AmpliFeeder

SweetCron has failed me. There, I said it.

Though you can still access my experimental lifestream at http://digitalcortex.net/stream, I hope it’ll soon be replaced with this cool new open-source lifestreaming tool from jonpauldavies. Key features are:

  • Looks to be especially good at styling, with several themes ready out of the box.
  • 16 built-in social services with RSS input for those other fiddly ones no-one really uses.
  • Graphing tools built-in for crispy pie charts etc.

Plus, the PR job he’s doing over at lifestreamblog.com will work wonders at driving support, the main reason SweetCron is lagging behind. Check it out:

  • Overlay.TV – Watch it. Click it. Get it.
Adds clickable elements to UGC Video, but its true power lies with advertisers.
  • Pink Tentacle
One of several emerging Okatu blogs that I’m beginning to take interest in.
This particular site features technology in its more bizarre forms.
  • definr – incredibly fast dictionary
Cool little tool that defines words as you type them. Cute logo.
  • 4096 Color Wheel Version 2.1 – link removed due to spamming
Yes it’s a colourwheel, but it’s a particularly attractive one. Will be used to implement changes on DigitalCortex eventually.
  • 50 websites you’ll wonder how you lived without | Curious? Read
Great list of Web 2.0/3.0 apps that, within minutes of finding this, changed my connected life forever. Curious? Indeed I am.

Future Site Design

CubeThis is the cube that’ll eventually inform the whole look and feel of this site.

It’s simplicity evokes solidity and clarity. Also, it looks cool. Which is the main thing.

Will try out a load of different colours, and see what sticks.

I’m now working on creating a Child theme for Thematic, which is supposed to make WordPress customisation quite easy. We’ll see about that!
